Significant figures is a panel show of high profile people to find out what  mystery scientist does though games and activities.

Join us online to help our significant figures work out who the mystery scientist is and what they researches in their lab? That is the challenge for panellists on a live recording of science communicator Tom Gordon and his popular STEMpunk podcast. It all looks a lot more like a game or variety show than a science panel, as we try to figure out what the expert does in and out of the lab.Join us online for a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/570321937653493" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Facebook stream</a> or <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS0JkgY6JV5G72kwkVEsnog/videos?view=2&amp;live_view=502" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YouTube stream</a>The team will stage four live recordings during National Science Week – one in Sydney and three in regional locations. Each one will see a local scientist playing games and answering questions about research, hobbies and homelife. The event will be a live recording of a STEMpunk podcast. The event will be a panel discussion of high profile people (significant figures) categorised into rounds. - Round 1: 22/7. Panelists ask a scientist a max of 22 yes/no questions in a time limit of 7 minutes to figure out what the scientist does. Then the scientist can explain some of what they do. there will be some follow up questions too!- Round 2: Jargon jive. Panelists guess the meaning of selected jargon and terms in the scientists field and the panelists have to guess what it means!- Round 3: Two truths and a lie. Scientists gives three &quot;facts&quot; about what they do in their spare time, Panelists figure out which is the lie. - Round 4: You Can ask that. Panelists and the audience ask questions to the scientist. They can ask any question they like. More like a traditional podcast for this round.
