The year is 1984 and the immortal Amazon warrior, Princess Diana of Themyscira – AKA Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) – finds herself trying to stay under the radar and out of trouble, working as an archaeologist at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.

But trouble seems to have a way of finding Diana as she soon becomes embroiled in a sinister conspiracy of global proportions when a magical artefact that grants wishes catches the eye of power-hungry entrepreneur Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal).

Now, as an old friend from Diana's past miraculously enters the picture, and Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig), Diana's insecure gemologist colleague, gives in to desire, a series of cataclysmic events will push the world to the brink. Can Wonder Woman save the day?
