Safe storage and transportation of your work is a must. Fighting off mould, controlling climate and protecting works on paper from the elements can be more than a little tricky, especially if you don’t have the means for professional conservation. Amelia Brown is a Registration Assistant (Collections &amp; Loans) at QAGOMA and will provide a hands-on demonstration of low-cost preventative conservation methods for artists working with paper. This workshop will teach you how to build a protective folder for work on paper, and cover the what and how of preventative conservation. Materials are provided however, if possible, please bring along a small work on paper to use during the demonstration.Amelia Brown is an arts worker with an interest in the care and preservation of artworks. Following completing a double degree with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Class I) with majors in Art History and Ancient History and a Bachelor of Science with an Archaeological Science major, Amelia has worked with collections in institutions such as Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art and University of Queensland Art Museum. Amelia is also the previous Vice President of the UQ Society of Fine Art, and has been an active member of the Brisbane arts community for many years.
