The ANU Science Communication Strategy and Leadership short course will equip you with skills to develop a winning communication and engagement strategy and measure its impact.Throughout this course, you will gain confidence that your communication efforts are focussed on the right places, and will deliver upon your - or your organisation’s - priorities. You will also learn how to communicate about strategy with other leaders, and start developing your reputation as a genuinely strategic thinker and leader. Further, we will help you develop a strategy that you can implement immediately, based on feedback during the course.

In this intensive five-day program, you will learn:<ul><li>How to develop the science communication objectives that deliver upon organisational goals and deliver measurable impact.</li><li>How to use data to segment audiences and tailor communication activities accordingly.</li><li>How to evaluate a communication strategy to empirically demonstrate its effectiveness.</li><li>How to build strategic relationships with the most important stakeholders.</li><li>How to communicate about strategy, and be recognised as a genuinely strategic thinker and leader.</li></ul> Led by <a href="https://researchers.anu.edu.au/researchers/nurse-ms" title="https://researchers.anu.edu.au/researchers/nurse-ms" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr. Matthew Nurse</a>, a communication expert with 20 years’ practical experience in leading science and public policy communication strategies, and facilitated by Australia's largest science communication research centre at ANU, this course will set you up for science communication success. Note: This short course cannot be taken for credit towards an ANU degree.Cancellation:The Australian National University reserves the right to cancel the course or change course title, content, dates and venues. We also reserve the right to decline registrations where registrations exceed capacity or cancel the course due to insufficient registrations. In the event of cancellation, as much notice as possible* will be provided to participants registered for the course. Refunds:Under the circumstances outlined below, participants may be eligible for a full refund of their fees:• If ANU is unable to offer the course.• If a participant cancels their place in the course in writing at least six weeks before the course start date. No fees will be refunded if the participant withdraws from the course within six weeks of the course start date.
