NICA is the largest active-participation conservation organisation in the region with over 500 members and volunteers engaged across the catchment.  NICA provides direct access to a range of opportunities to participate in the integrated coordination, conservation and sustainable use of the natural environment, and to develop social bonds with like minded community members of all ages and capacities.  NICA’s integrated and innovative catchment programs including River Rangers, Water Watch, Bushcare and Urban Wildlife Gardens visit parts of the catchment few ever experience.

<p>Walk to the highest point in the Marcus Beach High Dunes in the Lake Weyba section of the Noosa National Park. Learn about the story to protect these elevated, coastal heathlands from residential subdivision by TM Burke in the 1990s. Admire the stunning coastal hinerland views as we pass through flowering coastal heathlands and wonder how lucky we are that this was protected.</p><p>This is a bushwalk on sand fire trails rising from sea level to 45 metres elevation. Bring sturdy shoes, hat and sun protection and water bottle. A good degree of mobility is required. 2 to 3 hours duration.</p>
