Dancer and choreographer Anna Seymour shares the evolution of her practice and her approach to collaborative development.

<h2>Artist Spotlights</h2>The Other Film Festival WA 2021 presents a series of six artist spotlights which highlight the practice and unique working process of key artists in the arts and Deaf and Disabled space(s). Responding to three central themes: Authenticity &amp; Disability Leadership, Audience Engagement, and Disability-led Creative Process; the artist spotlights present an opportunity for artists to present their work and discuss their practices as they exists beyond merely advocacy for access inclusion: and as tangible, culturally rich, and legitimate forms.<h3>4 – 5pm: Artist Spotlight | Anna Seymour</h3>Join Anna Seymour as she shares the evolution of her choreographic practice, her approach to collaborative development, and her current role as a company dancer with Candoco Dance Company in London for their 2020/2022 season. About the artist:Anna Seymour is a dance artist and has been based in Melbourne for the last 14 years. Co-founder and Artistic Director of The Delta Project, a dance company of Deaf and hearing performers based in Melbourne, and productions include Collisions (Deakin University Theatre, 2012) and Under My Skin (Next Wave, 2016). Working as a choreographer, Anna created and performed Distraction Society (Melbourne Fringe Festival 2016), SPIN (Melbourne Fringe Festival 2018), Skin (Melbourne Recital Centre, 2019) and Mini SPIN (Melbourne Fringe Festival 2019 &amp; Darebin Arts Speakeasy 2020). Anna also worked as an actor for TV (ABC’s Get Krack!n), film (Volatilis) and theatre (Deafferent Theatre). Anna has recently joined Candoco Dance Company in London as a company dancer for their 2020/2022 touring season.About The Other Film Festival WAAn Arts Access Victoria initiative, The Other Film Festival started in 2004 and is a ground-breaking, international, disability-led program that elevates Deaf people and people with disability’s voices, stories and skills within the Australian screen industry.Presented in association with Perth Festival, this year’s The Other Film Festival WA is DADAA’s second expanded iteration of the project, encompassing a program of film screenings and artist spotlights driven by leading creatives with disability. This program represents the innovation and critical engagement with disability-politics that our creative sector needs at both a national and international level.
