The Sons of the West men's health program is back again in 2021!Haven't been part of the SOTW before? This is what you can expect:The Sons of the West is a FREE 10-week men's health program.  It is run by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation in partnership with local councils and community health services across western Victoria. The program is free thanks to support from major partner WorkSafe Victoria, Department of Health and Human Services, Australian Multicultural Community Services and Watergardens Town Centre. Each week the program runs for about 2 hours.  In the first hour, you will have the chance to hear from guest presenters about different men's health topics. In the second hour, we get out and do some fun and group based exercise. There are loads of giveaways including customised Sons of the West incentives and the chance to win signed merchandise from the Western Bulldogs Football Club.Catch up with other men in your community, get healthy and pick up some free stuff while you’re doing it.  It doesn’t get much better than this! Remember fellas, only sign up if you can commit to coming to as many of the 10 weeks as possible. We want to ensure you get the most out of the program.Please note, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, extra precautions including reduced venue capacity (smaller group sizes), extra hygiene practices and an online program option for those that prefer will be in place to keep everyone safe. Everyone who attends the program MUST have an Eventbrite ticket <h2>Frequently Asked Questions: </h2>When does it start and what time is it? The program runs on different days and times across 12 locations in the west. Hobsons Bay times and dates are:Newport - Tuesdays 7pm-9pm from 16th March 2021Laverton - Thursdays 7-9pm from 18th March 2021This registration is for the LAVERTON site only. For more info on other areas, head to https://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/foundation/programs/sons-of-the-westIs there a minimum age requirement to come to the Sons of the West?Due to the content we cover in the education sessions, the Sons of the West program is for all men aged 18 and over. Can I sign up for more than one location?Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and limited spaces in 2021, we request participants only attend the program at ONE location. What if I miss a week? Speak to your local facilitator but you will have access to recordings of the health information sessions throughout the program. There are also a range of social opportunities to catch up with your fellow SOTW participants. Please note, to be eligible to graduate and complete the SOTW program you need to attend 7 out of the 10 sessions.  Can I sign up for a friend or family member?Yes, you can sign up on behalf of another person.  Just remember, there are limited spaces for the Sons of the West program in 2021.  Please only register for someone else if they are going to attend. If you can't come anymore, please give the Foundation team a heads up! What do I need to do after I have booked a spot for the Sons of the West Program?You just need to turn up on the first night with your ticket - don't worry we will send you an email and text to remind you!In week one you will have a chance to meet the program staff, meet other participants, fill out your safety forms and ask any questions you may have so you're ready to go for the rest of the program.   It is important you try your best to come along to the first week in your local council, otherwise your spot in the program may be forfeited. If you can't make it in week one, please let the local coordinator know. Do I have to bring my ticket in week 1?YES, to help us manage group sizes, all attendees must provide evidence of their registration either with the printed ticket Eventbrite sends you or the Eventbrite ticket on your phone. What if I need to cancel my ticket?
