We are Bendigo University Athletics Club (BUAC). Established Cira 1980, we are Bendigo’s biggest running club.Members participate in both summer athletics events and winter cross country events. Between March and September we host timed, family-friendly running races in the bushland surrounding Bendigo. Races are on most Saturdays from 2pm over 4 distances: 500m for the littlies, 1km, 3km and our longer races averaging 7km. Our winter handicap system enables every participant the chance to win the race. (Yes, that includes you.)FAQsQ. What's the defintion of a Family Membership?A “Family Membership” is for up to 2 Adults and all dependent children.Q. Do I need to be a BUAC Member to run?A No, not at all.Anyone can "come and try" any of our Cross Country afternoons and try us out. You are welcome to have a run, enjoy some afternoon tea and then decide if you want to join us. We're pretty sure you'll want to sign up staright away.We also offer a nominal "single race day fee" for those who may only get along to a couple of races over winter.Q. Do I need to purchase a leg tag?New members will be required to purchase a leg tag to participate in the Winter Cross Country season. Leg tags are not required for the Summer Athletics Bendigo Track and Field season.Returning members are only required to purchase a leg tag if you have lost your tag from the previous season. Q. If I forget my leg tag can I still run?Yes, you just need to let us know when yu register and you will be issued with a bib to run with.
