The Macedon Ranges Wine Region is less than an hour from the Melbourne CBD. It extends from Baynton, Romsey and Lancefield in the north east across to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs towards the west. Vineyard altitudes range from 300 to 800 metres above sea level - making it the coolest wine producing region on mainland Australia.The popular varieties of the region are delicate sparkling wines, refined chardonnays and award winning pinot noirs. Delicate floral aromas can be found in wines from Lancefield, Romsey and Trentham due to the slow ripening of grapes during cool autumnal months. Beyond Kyneton and towards the rocky outcrops of the Cobaws and Baynton, more robust styles can be found such as shiraz and cabernet.Most producers are boutique and family-owned creating signature wines using age-old techniques. Join us to celebrate the new year at <a href="https://www.mounttowrong.com.au/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mount Towrong Vineyard</a> for our weekend of Platters and Prosecco on the 9th and 10th of January. Choose any wine from our wine list, Italian beer or soft drinks.
