M﻿ornington Peninsula Regional Gallery is a leading regional gallery. MPRG has a changing exhibition program featuring contemporary artists and many of Australia's most well known artists. The gallery is renowned for its special holdings of works on paper and also holds important historical works that capture the Mornington Peninsula region.M﻿PRG hosts a range of speical events and workshops for young creatives right through to adults. The Young at Art program introduces toddlers to the world of art. The gallery also hosts school holiday workshops and education programs. Join artist and illustrator Judy Watson for an illustration workshop of your pet

11am -12.30pm, 5 – 9 year olds (adult co-creator welcome) 1.30pm – 3.30pm for 9+ age group Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly friend to life in this fun and creative workshop with Peninsula-based artist, illustrator, and storyteller Judy Watson!Kids will bring a photo of their pet, and Judy will sketch a playful portrait for them. Then, using a mix of paint, crayons, and collage, they’ll get to add their own vibrant and imaginative touch, creating a unique artwork full of personality, to take home.This hands-on session is perfect for young animal lovers who enjoy art and storytelling. Judy will share tips on how to capture the spirit of each pet and encourage kids to experiment with different textures and colours. No pet? No problem! We’ll have plenty of inspiring animal images to choose from.After the workshop, settle in for a special story time as Judy reads from her recently published and beautifully illustrated book, Jo and the NO. There will also be an opportunity to purchase a copy (in the MPRG store) and have it personally signed by Judy! * Wear clothes that can get messy! The workshop will be held in a marquee outdoors, so if it’s chilly pop on a jumper! Also, Nuno's Southern Hospitality food van will be open for food and drinks.
