Learn how to analyse data using NVivo: from the very basics working up to more advanced features in this 2 day practical workshop.

This workshop is aimed at providing researchers with essential skills in using NVivo software. It is best suited to those who have collected or are in the process of collecting data. Researchers do not need any prior knowledge of NVivo.The course is focused on developing the essentials skills of NVivo through hands-on experience. The course covers how to use NVivo, as well as the practical application of the software for data analysis so researchers walk away knowing how to use the software, as well as how to apply the software for their research. By the end of this course, researchers will know how to: <ul><li>Import data into NVivo from a variety of sources (documents, excel, video and audio files, pictures, web content)</li><li>Create, move and structure nodes</li><li>Code and analyse a variety of data</li><li>Ideas on how to approach the analysis and coding of their data</li><li>Create classifications and attribute categories such as demographic data for participants.</li><li>Run a variety of queries in NVivo such as: Text Search, Coding Queries, Matrix Coding and compound queries, as well as understand what insights each query provides.</li><li>Visualise data in NVivo using tools such as diagrams, graphs, charts and models.</li></ul>In the course, researchers will be provided with training material. There will be time at the end of the workshop for students to work with their own data and ask questions that pertain to their own projects.<h3>Things to note: </h3>- The sessions will be demonstrated in the Windows version of NVivo.
