When we opened in 1930, MAG&M was NSW’s first metropolitan-based public regional gallery. Today we’re a hub of cultural activity on the Northern Beaches, with changing art and museum exhibitions, and a stimulating program of art workshops for both kids and adults, artist talks, performances and special events.

History Repeats: Three contemporary artists have drawn upon the site and stories of the former quarantine station at North Head to create an immersive exhibition experience in response to issues around migration, quarantine and place. Working with paper, textiles and paint, Jo Neville, Julie Paterson and Fiona Chandler have each created forty panels representing the original forty day quarantine period of detention or isolation imposed upon ships, people, animals or plants suspected of carrying infectious or contagious diseases. This timely exhibition is presented in partnership with Q Station, Manly.Bookings essential: 20pp maxCovid-19 measures include ensuring that you maintain your physical distance at all times during the event. Please note that NSW Health strongly recommends people wear a mask when unable to physically distance, to keep everyone safe.
