When we opened in 1930, MAG&M was NSW’s first metropolitan-based public regional gallery. Today we’re a hub of cultural activity on the Northern Beaches, with changing art and museum exhibitions, and a stimulating program of art workshops for both kids and adults, artist talks, performances and special events.

EverysevenDays2021 is the new season year-long community art project originally created by Julie Paterson in July 2020 as a response to Covid. It is an impermanent, ephemeral weekly art practice for everyone, designed to enhance our mental health, reduce stress, boost creativity and cognitive function, and strengthen our sense of connection with nature and community. You don’t have to be an artist to participate - the project is very easy and inclusive and everyone can join in. All ages are welcome. There will be some walking about in nature so wear sturdy shoes and a sun hat and bring a camera or smart phone. This will be week one of EverySevenDays2021 so come and join Julie in kick starting your new, creatively mindful year. To find out more head to everysevendays.org or #everysevendays2020 and follow @everysevendays on Instagram.History Repeats: Three contemporary artists have drawn upon the site and stories of the former quarantine station at North Head to create an immersive exhibition experience in response to issues around migration, quarantine and place. Working with paper, textiles and paint, Jo Neville, Julie Paterson and Fiona Chandler have each created forty panels representing the original forty day quarantine period of detention or isolation imposed upon ships, people, animals or plants suspected of carrying infectious or contagious diseases. This timely exhibition is presented in partnership with Q Station, Manly.Bookings essential: 20pp per tourCovid-19 measures include ensuring that you maintain your physical distance at all times during the event. Please note that NSW Health strongly recommends people wear a mask when unable to physically distance, to keep everyone safe.
