Australian Dance Party,a new dancing voice.We are a collective of Canberra's contemporary dance artists driven to create fun, bold and urgent site specific dance work that challenges ideals of this contemporary time.For us dance goes beyond the theatre. We create new dance work in ordinary and extraordinary spaces harnessing the power and playfulness of the human body and collaborating art forms to feel connected to this time and this place. We are curious to expose the role of dance in inspiring thinking and feeling in today’s world.As a non-profit organisation we aim to establish and sustain careers for dance artists through the creation and presentation of work and investment in artistic development and creative practice....and we have fun….its a Party!

'Lake March' is a spontaneous dance and music performance unfolding along the pathways of Lakes Burley Griffin, Ginninderra and Tuggeranong.

Various

Families, friends and exercise buffs of all ages flocking to the Lake to fill up on nature, gossip and sweat will unsuspectingly be treated to an artistic happening, a shared moment of surprise, reflection and joy.Along the water’s edge, eight dancers continuously move in a spatially distanced procession to live musical accompaniment honouring these watery spaces as places of connection, reflection and for some, trauma. Ignited by the turbulent context we are experiencing globally in 2020, the artists draw on notions of absence - of human-to-human touch, of a just and stable world, of collective joy – experiences for which we yearn.Lake March is presented by the Where You Are Festival with the support of the ACT Government.
