SlutWalk began in Toronto, Canada in 2011 and is a movement that demands an end to victim blaming and slut shaming. Ten years in and what has been achieved? The word ‘slut’ remains controversial and every year we battle with public misconceptions, bad policing and issues around consent with photographing those involved in the Walk. Why does our culture oppose consent so strongly? What are the systemic barriers to ending rape culture? How can we get men to stop assaulting, raping and murdering us?These are the kind of questions Dr Jessamy Gleeson will be our guest panelists. We have invited Elisa Buggy (Flat Out Inc.), Samantha Castro (Friends of the Earth), Ms Katalyna (Trans Pride March), Kira Djnalie (Beautiful, Talented &amp; Deadly), Valentina Zoe (Latinx Feministas). Peaches (Vixen Collective) and Dr Angie Ng (SlutWalk Hong Kong) to discuss their views on the systemic violence, rape culture and what needs to happen to smash the patriarchy.
