In this webinar, we will showcase today’s low vision technology in education.

We invite you to join this free webinar, presented by Quantum RLV in conjunction with Vision Australia. We will showcase the latest range of low vision assistive technology products for use in education.Assistive technology products improve the learning outcomes for students with a vision impairment. In recent times there has been a major increase in the range and options for this type of technology in the classroom. In the last few months alone, there have been some new products with increased functionality delivered to the marketplace. During the webinar we will showcase the latest in assistive technology solutions including TactPlus, a tactile graphics printer, and the Elbraille, a braille based Windows 10 computer. To access NDIS funding for home and for education it is important to understand what options in technology are available as a basis for best determining your optimum equipment selection. Product selection and training, combined with collaboration between the student, parent (where applicable), education institution and support services, will ensure that the student has access to the most appropriate technology providing superior access to information and materials in the classroom. In 1981 he began working within the low vision sector for O.P.S.M. His visual aid knowledge has developed from his experiences at the Royal Blind Society, Concord Rehabilitation Hospital and the Sydney Eye Hospital. He has also been on the teaching staff of the Guild of Dispensing Opticians. After running his own optical business for 13 years in Perth, Rob returned to Sydney in 2004 to work for Quantum RLV. Now a Senior Low Vision Consultant, Rob has gained a wealth of experience travelling around Australia and overseas to trade shows and exhibitions and has extensive training with designers and manufacturers of assistive technology products and services.Trevor Boyd - QuantumTrevor has a wealth of experience and understanding of the impact of vision impairment and the latest low vision and blindness assistive technology products and services available. He is also well respected for his experience with braille and braille embossers. Trevor is often invited to speak at conferences and events throughout Australia. He works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Macular Disease Foundation Australia, and collaborates with JobAccess on workplace modifications and adjustments. He acts as an advisor to several Education Departments throughout Australia.
