In January 2015 SACS partnered with Deakin University to undertake one of the largest studies into the topic of engagement in Australia's history. We measured the engagement of in excess of 2700 employees across a range of sectors in the Australian employment market. Engagement is very important because it can be shown to be an excellent predictor of crucial outcomes such as stakeholder satisfaction, growth and commercial success. We found some fascinating things in this research:
- The levels of engagement of a range of different sectors and how they compare with each other.
- The causes of engagement among employees.
- The role of Leadership in driving engagement.
- The leadership behaviours which had the greatest effect on engagement - 10 in total.
