Ballarat Regional Multiucultural Council convenes the BRASSN together with community volunteers and representatives from Ballarat Community Health, House of Welcome, Rural Australians for Refugees, Grandmothers, Uniting Church and a number of Ballarat Faith organisations. BRASSN welcomes, includes and supports refugees and people seeking asylum in our community.
In celebration of Refugee Week 2020 - the year of Welcome - our Ballarat Malayalee Association members will cook and package a lunch pack of delicious traditional food. Together with volunteers from Ballarat Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support network (BRASSN) they will delliver the lunch meal to people across our community:
30 meals to say 'thankyou' to frontline health workers for their invaluable contribution to our health and wellbeing every day,
50 meals to people in financial stress and isolation
20 meals (or more if ordered) for anbody who purchases a meal. All funds will be used to directly support isolated or financially stressed people from migrant and refugee backgrounds
