Writing for Experimental Art, co-presented with Runway
12 – 4pm, Saturday 5 November

Experimental, interdisciplinary and emergent practices offer unique challenges to writers and critics. Treading ever-shifting ground between forms, this intransigence can make for thorny subject matter, even for the most intrepid critic. This workshop, facilitated by curator and writer Bec Dean, will guide you through writing exercises and give you tools to create pithy, informative and original texts that celebrate multidisciplinary practice and expand your skills in writing between forms.

In addition to focused mentoring by experienced practitioners, participation in the workshop will include a ticket to a Liveworks show of your choice, which will provide the experimental fodder to generate a new text. The program will also include an introduction to Liveworks and ongoing editorial support from Performance Space and Runway Australian Experimental Art, with potential publication on Runway’s online ‘Conversations’ platform.

Please NOTE: Participation will be via application and the call out will happen in September.
