The Raising Money Masterclass is a valuable, one-day conference organised by Capital Angels, Canberra's angel investors network, for all businesses seeking to raise capital; whether you are a start-up business or enterprise in the growth phase. If you are a current or potential investor, you too will be provided with valuable information and network opportunities.
During the morning session, you will hear from a number of experienced business leaders presenting case studies on a range of topics relevant to start-ups and businesses in the growth phase. The following topics will be discussed:
- Growth Phase - includes early stage advice, co-working, accelerators, angel investment, research to investment.
- Is Investment Right for you? - includes common issues and concerns, business valuation.
- Grants and Other Support - includes R&D incentives, debt financing and niche players, grant funding, essentials to investment.
During the afternoon session, choose from two streams:
- Stream 1: Term Sheet Workshop with Nick McNaughton

- Steam 2: Scaling Up - includes key growth activities, case studies and lessons learned.
Following the afternoon session, there will be a Capital Angels Pitch with two pre-selected companies given the opportunity to pitch to investors. A brief networking session will be held after the pitching is complete.
An expert panel of presenters has been assembled for this year's Masterclass including representatives from Capital Angels, Citadel Group, Australian Capital Ventures, NICTA, GRIFFIN Accelerator, CBR Innovation Network, Lighthouse Business Innovation Centre, ATP Innovations, ANU Connect Ventures and many more.
