Description

VHA members are invited to attend a member’s only forum, Infrastructure & capital challenges for health services, on Tuesday 6September. This forum is targeted at ensuring that our members have the right tools to make the best decisions when undertaking changes in their infrastructure.

Julian Kerwood and Ben Ammundsen from Turner & Townsend will be exploring Planning for success and implementing tailored solutions for capital projects. Ben recently delivered the first modular project for Queensland Health, handing Alpha Health and Emergency Services Precinct over on time and under budget. Julian will discuss that one approach does not suit all, outlining the differences in every project’s challenges, opportunities and key risks.

Dr Tanya Petrovich from Alzheimer’s Australia Vic will be presenting Dementia and the Built Environment – Enabled in Aged Care, which includes insight on how to make a significant difference to the quality of life, independence and wellbeing of a person living with dementia.

Also focusing on the aged care sector will be CEO of Hesse Rural Health, Peter Birkett, who will be sharing ‘The Werruna experience: Innovative dementia design in a rural setting’.

Judith Hemsworth from the Department of Health & Human Services will present ‘Planning for capital bids: masterplans, planning benchmarks and design standards’, providing an insight on the key factors organisations should be considering when they begin their planning and funding considerations.
