Higher, Faster, Stronger is now in its 3rd year!

Higher, Faster, Stronger (HFS) is a series of sport education forums designed by the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) to increase the knowledge of coaches that will empower them to build the physical development and competency of their junior athletes along their sporting pathway.

Coaches will learn how to create a training environment that will build superior sport specific skills and develop mentally tough athletes. They will be exposed to current best practice coaching methods across a range of topics that are practical to implement into any coaching environment and that can be applied throughout the different stages of their athlete’s development.

The forums are free to attend and participants can attend the full day schedule or choose to only attend the sessions that are most relevant to them. Sessions are open to anyone with an interest in developing junior sport, whether it be coaching an under-6 team or aspiring elite athletes.

PLEASE NOTE: The swim clinic on Monday 3.00-5.00pm will be held at the Blue Stone Motor Inn pool. All other sessions will be held at the Anyinginyi Sport and Recreation Hall on Ambrose St.

Darwin: 20 & 21 February

Nhulunbuy: 23 & 24 February

Alice Springs: 27 & 28 February

Tennant Creek: 2 & 3 March

Katherine: 2 & 3 March

How much does it cost to attend Higher, Faster, Stronger?

These forums are free to attend.

Is the event catered?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide catering for the 2015 HFS conference. Please ensure you bring plenty of food to keep you sustained throughout the sessions. Tea, coffee and juice will be provided at every session.

Do I have to attend every session?

No. You can choose to attend the full day or any of the sessions that are most relevant to you.

Is there a registration cut-off date?

Yes. The registration cut-off date for eah event workshop is one week prior.

Do I have to bring my confirmation page to the event?

No, this is a paperless event. DSRR will have a list of attendees at the door where you will be able to sign in and collect your name badge.

The name on the registration doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, that is fine. However, if possible please send an email to DSR (participation.dsr@nt.gov.au) to let us know who will be attending in your place. This way we can make sure your replacement’s name is included on the sign-in list and a name tag is printed for them.

How can I receive a copy of the Higher, Faster, Stronger forum topics?

Bring a USB hard drive with you to the forums and you will be able to dowload copies of the presentations made available. Dont forget to bring note pad and pen to take notes.

Will attendance at HFS count towards my professional development requirements?

This depends on your professional development requirements, however if you require a certificate of participation or signature, please approach us after the sessions has been completed and we can arrange this for you.
