Guardianship and Administration involves the protection of adults who have a disability and who need a substitute decision-maker
VCAT (Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal) Guardianship List (having the authority to make protective orders), the Office of the Public Advocate (as investigator or guardian) and State Trustees (as administrator) each have an important role in relation to the protection of adults with a disability.
Experienced representatives of these organisations will present an information session for people involved in medical and allied health, social work and other relevant professions. It will be of particular interest to those less familiar with the work of the organisations.
The session will provide a basic overview of the Guardianship and Administration process and the role and services of each organisation.
The session is FREE and will run for 1.5 hours, including time for questions and general discussion
Venue Directions: Enter hospital via Mary Aikenhead Building - 27 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy; Lecture theatre is on the Ground Floor. Follow the signs.
