Description

To celebrate National Ride2Work Day on Wednesday 12th of October. QV1 has invited Pearce Selleck from Bike Dr to share his knowledge on practical bike maintenance.

National Ride2Work Day is the largest celebration of commuter riding in Australia. Held annually, the day celebrates the benefits of riding to work and brings together the communities that support it.

Basic Bike Maintenance Workshop 1: 12pm - 1pm
One of the biggest fears for people riding is getting a puncture. In our 1 hour course you will learn about different bike parts, how to maintain your chain, remove the wheels from a bike, repair a puncture and replace it. So next time you get a puncture, you will be back on your way in no time!

This is a hands on session where all participants are encouraged to bring their bike so they can apply their knowledge and work directly on their bike.

Intermediate Bike Maintenance Workshop 2: 5pm - 6pm
This 1 hour workshop is focused on complex maintenance and fine tuning. Participants will dive into the theory and practicality of tuning gears. The BikeDr will detail the process of troubleshooting gear problems. A basic understanding of bike maintenance is essential.

This is also a hands on session where all participants are encouraged to bring their bike so they can apply their knowledge and work directly on their bike.

The workshops are being held at the entry to the QV1 Public Car Park, in front of the Bike Storage shower facilities.

There is a maximum limit of 10 participants per class due to space restrictions, however we do have room for 10 additional spectators per class. Please email concierge@qv1.com.au if you would like to be a spectator.

QV1 is an iconic 43 storey modernist tower located at the western end of Perth’s most powerful street. Designed by internationally renowned architect Harry Seidler AC, QV1 was completed in 1991 after nearly six years in development and was the largest single building project in the CBD.

To this day QV1 remains one Australia's most iconic and beautiful office buildings. In Perth, no office building comes close to QV1 as a prestigious corporate address.
