This series of Symposia is provided for m35embers of the College - however non- members are welcome at a nominal charge. If you wish to join the College this can be done via the Join Now link on the College Website


This series has been developed by the College in collaboration with as an ongoing education program for members.

How is surveillance different in the Non-Acute Care setting? In non-acute – what do they collect, what definitions do they use, does it make a difference who collects them, does it actually get reported anywhere, is it being used to improve quality outcomes?

  • To provide opportunities for professional development of infection control professionals
  • To review and discuss current definitions of surveillance, what are they, how are they collected and how are these linked to quality improvement activities
  • To understand the role and responsibility of the Infection Prevention and Control staff or portfolio holder in relation to surveillance
