A Simple Nudge Can Make a Big Difference

Behavioural Insights (BI) is an initiative that came out of the UK. It is about applying the knowledge of the social, cognitive and emotional behaviour of people. It makes subtle changes to the way decisions are framed and conveyed in order to have large impacts on behaviour.

More recently BI has been working with the NSW Government to influence public behaviour with proven results. In partnership with the Department of Education and Allianz BI designed and implemented a trial to increase the rate of return to work for injured workers assessed as 'fit to work'. Results from the trial show injured workers returned to work 27% faster within a 90-day period.

BI uses EAST that is a simple framework for applying behavioural insights to how you manage your communcations and practices around WHS and RTW.

EAST is the acronym for Easy, Attractive, Social and Timely.

Our Speaker

Ravi Dutta

Ravi Dutta is an advisor at the BI Team and has experience in applying behavioural insights to consumer finance and international development projects. Prior to joining the team, Ravi worked for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and in economic policy at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet. Ravi has a Masters in Business Economics from Monash University, for which he was placed on the Dean’s Commendation List.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Liverpool train station is a 10-minute walk.

2 hour parking is readily available in near the office Bathurst Street.

Free council parking is available on corner of Bathurst and Memorial Streets.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Yes just let us know of the change in attendee.

Can I bring someone else?

It should not be a problem but check with us to ensure we have a spare seat.
