Make It with Carbatec

Woodworking is a timeless tradition. For many of us, our connection to the craft spans back to school, work, or a loved one. Stuck in our busy lives, many of us have lost touch with the appreciation for creating things with our own hands.

Make It aims to change this. No skills, experience or tools are required. Those who already have woodworking experience will have the opportunity to refine their skills and understanding and are also welcome to attend. Simply come as you are and take away as much as you can.

Our tutor Graeme will guide you through fine skills such as measuring, cutting, and finishing. With over 40 years of experience, Graeme has much to offer when it comes to woodworking. His journey began at the age of 13, after being mesmerised by vintage squatter’s chairs and exposed through dovetails. After studying at the ANU School of Art, he ran a workshop making furniture, exhibition pieces, displays and fit outs. He joined Carbatec in 2002 and has been a pivotal point in making our vision of Make It a reality.

Choose from a selection of 6 projects, and walk away with a finished piece that will be a point of pride for years to come. These workshops are best suited to those aged 15+. Closed toe footwear is required.
