The doubleA Foundation develops productions by composer and director Michel van der Aa, which are often created in collaboration with international co-producers. This leads to groundbreaking music theater productions – such as the recent opera Upload in co-production with Dutch National Opera & Ballet – and innovative presentation forms, like the VR opera installation From Dust. Technological, philosophical, and ethical questions are an important component of the work.
