Cat Jones
Cat Jones is an interdisciplinary artist, writer and curator. She investigates climate futures, human and species empathy, and gender politics through subversion of social constructs, science, history, language and the senses. Her work manifests in diverse forms and she has special interests in audience psychology and immersive environments.
Jones is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including Creative Australia Felllow, Synapse, and recent winner of the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent presented at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. She has taken up international research residencies that include SymbioticA (WA), OSCIEN (QLD), fo.am (Brussels), point b (NY) and the Institute of Art and Olfaction (CAL). Previously Jones was Artistic Director/CEO of PACT centre for emerging artists; Co-Director then inaugural Chairperson of Electrofringe, international festival of electronic art and culture. Jones has a BA-Drama, QUT and is research affiliate of the Sansom Institute, Body in Mind, UniSA.
