Speaking Down Barriers's mission is Equity for All. The two strategic imperatives to achieve this mission are end oppression and value everyone. We are a team of listeners, healers, artists, researchers, teachers, theologians, & creatives who work together to offer spoken word poetry, transformative dialogue, workshops, and deep listening to communities, organizations, and institutions. We envision a world where all people are confronting and healing the wounds of difference, including race, gender, class, religion, national identity, and sexual orientation. Rather than our differences act as a source of division, they can be the source of our collective strength.
