Cherry Bomb: Alternative Queer Party
Alternative Queer Party in Boorloo, Australia
BUILT IN BASEMENT CHAOS & QUEER CLUB ENERGY
Since its debut in November 2019 on the weekend of Western Australia Pride at Lucy’s Love Shack, Cherry Bomb has provided a stage for drag, burlesque, and live performance, fostering a sapphic and queer community that thrives on punk energy and political defiance.
What began five years ago in the basement of Lucy’s Love Shack has grown into a cornerstone of Boorloo’s alternative queer nightlife. From sticky dance floors to glitter-streaked eyeliner, Cherry Bomb built its name on raw performance, punk spirit, and community care.
Cherry Bomb now spans two full levels inside Connections Nightclub, Boorloo’s most iconic queer venue, proudly celebrating over 50 years as the longest-running LGBTQ+ nightclub in the Southern Hemisphere. In the main room our DJs are spinning the best punk, alternative, emo, and queer party anthems plus plenty of fierce drag, spicy burlesque and wild circus acts throughout the night!
Cherry Bomb has always been more than a club night. It’s a platform for emerging and established performers. A space where underrepresented voices are amplified and a movement grounded in connection and queer joy.
