The Feathered Fox
About the Organisers
The Feathered Fox Workshop was born from a shared belief that learning practical skills can change lives. We wanted to create more than a place to learn woodworking—we wanted to build a welcoming community where people of all ages and abilities could develop confidence, creativity and meaningful connections through hands-on experiences.
Drew Fox (Foxy) is a qualified Industrial Technology teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience and a background as an electrician. Throughout his career, Drew has helped thousands of young people and adults develop practical skills in safe, supportive learning environments. His experience as a Head Teacher of Wellbeing has also shaped his approach to teaching, recognising that confidence often grows one small success at a time.
Working alongside Drew is his business partner, SarahAnia Heyden, affectionately known as "Feather." Feather is a welcoming face behind The Feathered Fox Workshop, coordinating bookings, supporting families and ensuring every participant feels valued from their first enquiry to the moment they leave with their completed project.
With more than ten years' experience as a qualified disability support worker and Student Support Officer, Feather has worked alongside children, teenagers and adults with a diverse range of abilities and support needs. Her calm, caring nature and extensive experience help create an environment where participants feel safe, included and encouraged to have a go.
Foxy and Feather first met while working together in a local high school. They quickly discovered they shared the same passion: helping people discover strengths they didn't know they had. Over years of friendship and working together, a vision began to take shape—a place where learning practical skills wasn't just about making projects, but about building confidence, resilience, friendships and a genuine sense of belonging.
Today, that vision is The Feathered Fox Workshop.
Whether you're joining us for your very first woodworking experience or looking to build on existing skills, you'll find a relaxed, encouraging environment where questions are welcomed, mistakes are part of learning, and every achievement is celebrated. Our small class sizes ensure everyone receives individual guidance and leaves with new skills, lasting memories and something they're proud to have created.
We can't wait to welcome you into our workshop and share the joy of making something with your own hands.
