This 2 day course will teach you the skills and knowledge to recognise adolescent brain development, the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, how to apply mental first aid, supports and resources available to young people and itll empower you to have effective conversations about mental health with young people.

Learn about youth mental health problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Eating disorders
  • Self harm
  • Suicidal Ideation
  • Substance dependance
  • Psychosis

A Youth Mental Health workbook is provided to each participant.

Date: Saturday 4th May AND Sunday 5th May

Time: 9am-5pm both days. Attendance on BOTH days is required to complete the course.

What to bring: A pen, notebook, BYO lunch and a smile. Complimentary tea, coffee and morning tea are provided both days.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to attend both days?

Yes. It is a requirement by Mental Health First Aid Australia that participants attend BOTH days of the course in order to receive a Certificate of Completion and be eligible to be accredited as a Mental health First Aider.

Will I receive a Certificate of Completion on the last day of the course?

Yes. Once you have completed both days of the course you will be given a Certificate of Completion.

How do I become accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aider?

After completion of the 2-day course, Mental Health First Aid Australia will send you a link to complete an online quiz which takes 20-30 minutes to complete. Once completed you will be sent a certificate by Mental Health First Aid Australia, and be accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.

Do you provide refunds?

Refunds are considered only in exceptional circumstances. However, you can transfer to another course within the next 6 months, including if you need to make up a portion or a whole day of the course at no extra cost. Refunds requests must be emailed to sandra@theunframedproject.com
