About this event

  • 2 hours

Sarcoptic mange is a silent but deadly killer in our wombat populations. The biggest concern is from an animal welfare perspective and only a very coordinated national approach will make an impact on the spread of mange.

The first step is to educate as many people as possible, members of the public, landowners, councils and politicians.

If everyone is aware, trained and willing, we can get more treatment programs up and running across all areas.

If you'd like to understand mange better so you know how to identify a wombat with mange and what to do if you see one, please register for this course.

Here's what I'll be covering:

  • What is mange?
  • How to identify mange
  • What to do when I see a manged wombat
  • Things you need to know about wombats and mange
  • Effective treatment strategies for different situations
  • Treatment techniques (do's and dont's)
  • Types of medicine and permits for use
  • Q&A

NOTE: This session will be recorded so it can be used for educational purposes in the future. If you do not wish to be recorded, please leave your webcam off and use a nickname for your name label in Zoom. I will guide you in how to do that before we hit record.
