About this event

Melbourne Design Week

The epitome of design excellence lies in the creation of "timeless" works. What defines timelessness in design, and what are the benefits of aspiring towards it?

In this discussion hosted by Articolo Studio, we discuss what makes a design timeless with Jeremy Bull (Alexander & Co), Mardi Doherty (Studio Doherty), Bree Leech (Bree Leech), Simone Haag (Simone Haag), Nicci Kavals (Articolo Studio) and moderated by Lauren Li (Sisällä).

Design tells us what our priorities are, aspirations and reflects society in a point in time. We explore what it means to create a design that is truly timeless.

The panel will explore the role of nostalgia in design, examining whether revisiting and appreciating past design eras adds excitement to contemporary design discourse. Design inherently reflects societal priorities, aspirations, and values, making it a valuable lens through which to examine cultural narratives.

The discussion begins at 6.30pm.
