About this event

Vivid Sydney started in 2009 and is now one of the biggest festivals in Sydney, boasting 2.33 million in attendance in 2017. During the festival, Sydney and her various buildings and landmarks will be transformed into an illuminated work of art.

Waratah will leave at 6.00pm from Pirrama Park, Pyrmont. As you cruise down the harbour, you will have an opportunity seeing harbour icons under the Vivid lights - the mighty Harbour Bridge and the stunning Opera House and many more.


Event Information:

● Boarding 5.30pm ● Departing 6.00pm ● Returning 7.30pm


  • Where to arrive: Northern end Pirrama Park, Pyrmont, NSW - opposite the apartments at 11 Pirrama Road (near the public toilets at the northern end of the park)
  • What to wear: sensible footwear, bring a windproof jacket. No sharp heeled shoes. The weather can change during the cruise, a windproof jacket may be useful as it may be breezy and cold out in the harbour.
  • What to bring: BYO food, snacks & beverages. Complimentary tea & coffee available.


Transport:

  • Walk from Town Hall station across the historic Pyrmont Bridge (15 min), walk to Pirrama Park (11 min)
  • Darling Harbour ferry from Wharf 5 at Circular Quay and alight at Pyrmont Bay, walk to Pirrama Park (11 min)
  • Light Rail from Central station and alight at Star Casino, walk to Pirrama Park (6 min) OR Light Rail from Central station and alight at John Street Square, walk down Harris St to the waterfront and Pirrama Park (4 min)
  • Bus No 389 which runs from Bondi Junction to Pyrmont and goes through the city via Park St. (https://transportnsw.info/routes/details#/sydney-buses-network/389/31389)
  • Parking at Wilson Parking - Jones Bay Wharf.


Special Conditions:

  • Due to safety requirements children must be at least 4 years old to board the vessel.
  • Due to the heritage nature, the vessel is not wheelchair accessible. Stilettos, sharp-heeled shoes and smoking strictly prohibited.
  • If, in the opinion of the Master on the day, the wind or sea state is deemed unsuitable for the comfort of passengers, the cruise will be cancelled, and passengers refunded.
