Teaching and Assessing the Creative Process
4 x 1 hour sessions
1. 10 to 11:30 Learning to look. Education Officer Kylie Neagle will showcase strategies teachers can use during a gallery visit or in the classroom.
2. 11:30 to 12:30 Idea Development and Visual Thinking Processes with Julia Robinson, Artist and Lecturer at Adelaide Central School of Art https://julia-robinson.net/
12:30 to 1:15 Lunch
3. 1:15 to 2:15 Divergent Thinking through Arts Practice. Explore idea development and visual thinking processes with Luke Thurgate, artist and lecturer at Adelaide Central School of Art.
4. 2:30 to 3:30 Assessment for teaching. Explore assessment strategies for informing teaching practice and encouraging creative development with Robyn Carmody. Robyn is experienced in using evidence based practices and criterion referenced frameworks to monitor and assess.
Sessions are framed around the Australian Curriculum achievement standards for Visual Arts, and the critical and creative thinking and personal and social capabilities.
When: Tuesday 17th April, 10:00am – 3.30 pm
Where: Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace Adelaide
VAESA will supply a light morning tea.
All registrations must be done online.
Cost: $40.00 Members, $85.00 Non-Members.
Payment can be made online with credit card or over the phone, or you can choose to be invoiced and pay by EFT.
VAESA are also holding another workshop on the 16th April titled: "Street Art and Aerosol Painting with James Dodd" A workshop based on aerosol stencil processes and general street art practices. Participants will have a chance to learn new techniques, or hone their existing skills, as they develop a more thorough understanding of street art subculture. There will also be extended discussions of ways to approach mural outcomes with groups of students and/or artists.
Lunch can be ordered by clicking on the link for 'Let Them Eat - Lunch Order' for $15 per day, please ensure you indicate dietary requirements if any, and if registering for both days ensure you select 2 lunch orders.

Cancellations and refunds.The minimum number of participants is 12. In the event that we do not have enough participants by Wednesday the 11th April, all registrations will be refunded in full and the workshop will be cancelled. If a participant is unable to attend the workshop and is able to cancel before the 11th of April they will receive a full refund please contact administration@ceasa.asn.au or phone 84635875. If a participant is unable to attend and cancels after the 11th there will be no refund but the booking name can be changed to a friend or colleague with the same membership status, or pay the difference for change of membership status, a $5 transfer fee will apply.
