This hands-on workshop will demonstrate techniques on how to maintain your fruit trees to promote good health, productivity and a long life. The activity will cover soil health, pest management, pruning techniques and look at a wide variety of citrus and other fruiting trees on the site. Learn from experienced organic gardeners and be inspired by what’s growing at Artarmon Community Garden.

Location: Artarmon Community Garden is at the end of Burra Road on the left-hand side, at 1A Burra Road, Artarmon. An easy walk from Artarmon Station or drive and park on Burra Road or in the Artarmon Oval car park accessed via a right turn at the end of Burra Road.


About the workshop facilitator:

Steve Batley is a landscape architect, permaculture designer, organic gardener and educator with over 30 years’ experience. He’s been creating productive sustainable urban gardens throughout Sydney since 1997 and runs the innovative landscape architecture firm Sydney Organic Gardens.

Steve’s own garden is full of chooks, veggies, herbs, flowers, fruit trees, compost, vertical gardens and diversity. Steve loves to share his experience and empower people to grow their own food and live healthy sustainable lives.
