Public Briefing Session: Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention

CHN, ACT’s PHN is inviting potential applicants to the Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention Program (TRISP) to a Public Briefing Session.

TRISP provides vital funding which will directly support a wide variety of suicide prevention initiatives in the local ACT region.

The focus of the initiatives will be to reduce the risk of suicide, suicidal distress and stigma, as well as promoting social inclusion. These initiatives will be community-led and directed at those experiencing suicidal distress, and who are not currently part of the mental health system, and their families and carers. It is also focussed on creating sustainable impacts on the support and wellbeing of this at-risk population.

This program will prioritise initiatives that can be maintained and delivered over a 12-month period, with the potential to last beyond this timeframe.

We are seeking potential providers to:

  • Build capacity and capability of ACT’s suicide prevention workforce and relevant community members to respond to suicidal distress.
  • Initiate or adapt suicide prevention activities for at-risk cohorts in community to identify and respond early to distress.
  • Improve coordination and service pathways for people in local high-risk populations.
  • Facilitate peer and mentorship programs for people at-risk or impacted by suicide.

This Approach to Market is funded utilising Primary Health Network program funding from the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care.
