About the author:

Peter Polites is a novelist from Western Sydney. He has written two acclaimed novels, Down the Hume and The Pillars, which won the 2020 NSW Premier’s Multicultural NSW Literary Award. He also won the 2020 Woollahra Digital Literature Prize for Fiction. In 2021 he was the ACT Writer in Residence at UNSW Canberra.

About the moderator:

Will Kostakis is an award-winning author for young adults who signed his first book deal in high school. We Could Be Something is his latest novel. It’s a humorous yet heart-rending look at family, fame and falling in love.

An advocate for young readers and writers, Will was awarded the 2020 Maurice Saxby Award by the School Library Association of New South Wales for service to children’s and young adult literature and is an ambassador for the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge and Australia Reads.
