The purpose of the Supporting Students Program (Intermediate) Workshop is expand on the Fundamentals Workshop by further developing participants with the skills, knowledge and resources to support students on their clinical journey from learning to practical application in the dynamic healthcare setting. It is a one day face to face education session suitable for health professionals who supervise multiple learners simultaneously, are responsible for the assessment of learners, have had previous supervision or preceptor training or have been supervising or precepting regularly for a number of years.
Learning Outcomes
· Develop skills and confidence to manage a learner in difficulty
· Devise innovative assessment strategies to evaluate practice and identify clinical reasoning
· Create a focused Learning Plan with the aim of supporting students to succeed
· Demonstrate effective role model and leadership skills in supporting students
· Identify the difference between the Clinical Coach, Supervisor and Teacher
Workshop Requirements
Supporting Students workshops will require the learner to complete the following;
1. Pre-learning activities on GOLD (2hrs). Pre learning activities will be shared with Regional participants
2. Attend workshop at Bendigo Health which will provide interactive opportunity for learning and application to practice (6hrs)
