The Northern and Yorke LGA in partnership with the LGA CWMS Management Committee will be staging the 5th SA CWMS Conference which will again delve in to the work that councils provide throught this important service of wastewater management to SA communities.

The conference will hear from councils, regulators and industry with the aim to share information, learn from each other and identify areas for increased support.

The conference will be of value to Elected Members, Senior Management and Operational Staff.

The LGA CWMS Management Committee through the SA Regional LGAs have supported the conference to strenghen the local government sector and to identify issues that councils have.

There will be a site visit 3pm on Thursday 20 June of the Mt Barker Springs Road Wastewater Treatment Plant followed by a networking dinner that night at the Handorf Old Mill - register for this with Tracey Rains admin@nylga.sa.gov.au

The Legatus Group is the trading name of the Central Local Government Region which is a regional subsidiary established under the Local Government Act 1999 (SA). The purpose of the Legatus Group is to undertake the co-ordination, advocacy and representation of the constituent councils at a regional level. Through the increased facilitation and co-ordination of local government activities relating to economic and community development at a regional level, the object of improving benefits to the communities of the constituent councils is enabled.

The Legatus Group aims to develop, encourage, promote, foster and maintain consultation and co-operation and to strengthen the representation and status of local government when dealing with other governments, private enterprise and the community.
