About this event

  • 6 hours

This forum provides professional learning for key staff in schools who are responsible for managing disclosures of family violence (eg. Assistant Principals, Child Safe Standards officers, Mental Health Practitioners, wellbeing leaders, disclosure coordinators and school nurses).

It is designed to build staff capacity to support students when there is a disclosure, and will include updated information about:

· Child and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes

· best practice record keeping (in line with legal obligations)

· reporting and referring matters to Child Protection and The Orange Door, and

· local family violence services.

There will be an opportunity to work through case studies with guest speakers, to clarify the roles and responsibilities of schools and other agencies – including some time for questions and answers.

Guest speakers include:

· The Orange Door

· Victoria Police

· DFFH Child Protection

· DE Child Information Sharing

· DE Privacy and Knowledge Management

Please note: this event is free of charge. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
