- Fun, safety and communicating with ponies and horses.
Children of all ages from 6 months to 14 years are invited to join us from June 24th to 26th for daily horsemanship lessons and interaction with our very quiet and exceptionally well educated ponies.
This is the perfect introduction to ponies and horses for all children, as well as more advanced learning for kids who've been around horses before.
Your child will learn about communicating with ponies, how to develop safe habits around them, build confidence and resourcefulness and how to become thoughtful partners with horses in general. We focus on safe and effective ground skills in all aspects of handling horses as well as riding skills and leadership.
We have groups for each age group and level of experience with a focus on understanding ponies and how they think, what they enjoy and what they really need from us.
Our teachers have decades of experience working with children and horses and our ponies are fabulous school masters. Children may attend from 2 days (min) to the full 3-day camp.
Juniors (8 - 14 years) are welcome to camp overnight under our supervision. Parents welcome too.
Babies and Pony Pals and their families are also welcome to camp.
Parents of babies and Pony Pals are required to be onsite during the lessons as you'll be learning also!
OUR GROUPS
Babies - 9am - 9.30am FREE
Pony Pals - 10am to 11.30am
Juniors - 1pm to 4pm
Babies (6 months to 2 years) are welcome to join us for 30 mins, free, to have a safe, delightful introduction to our very small Shetland Ponies.
Pony Pals (3 - 7 years) are welcome to join us for the entire day (parents too please), which includes a 90 minute lesson with our small ponies, as well as other horse related activities and games and lunch. Cost $70 per day.
Juniors (8 - 14 years) are welcome to join us for the entire day which includes a 3hr lesson with our ponies, as well as other horse related activities and games, all focused on equine skill and education. Also includes lunch. Cost $110 per day.
Numbers are limited to 10 per group and we have four QS Supervisors / coaches on hand at all times.
Helmets will be provided. Boots must be warn at all times by children attending. Gumboots are acceptable for babies from walking age to Pony Pals.
