About this event

  • 2 hours

To celebrate the gathering of nations on Gadigal clan Country and in our beautiful Sydney Harbor, Stella Stories will be running a Nuru-nye (pronounced noo-roo-ne) participatory workshop.

We will share our customary practice of making small wristbands as gifts of friendship and connection. The workshop materials include small offcuts of possum pelts, shells and recycled fibres and participants will learn about the importance of these materials inour Sydney and South Coast cultural traditions. We finish the session with a humble exchange ceremony where participants gift each other their creations. This workshop will be led by Amanda Jane Reynolds and is suitable for all ages. Children will need to be supervised and supported in the workshop by an adult.
