About this event

Changing Politics: Three Big Political Questions Confronting Christians Today

Politics is changing: Social media, demographic shifts, the decline of religious affiliation, new social and environmental challenges, and shifting ethical frameworks confront Christians with unsettling questions about how to engage and where we fit in. Christians can also be involved in changing politics. We can engage our political sphere in ways that are biblically faithful, culturally intelligent, and articulate a positive vision of the common good. Join us for a lecture and discussion as we consider the three big political questions for Christians in changing politics.

This seminar will:

  1. Analyse shifts in politics in Australia
  2. Consider modes of Christian political engagement, Biblical critical theory, and counter-catechetical discipleship.
  3. Consider the Bible's range of political tactics and what this looks like in our context.

The seminar will be followed by supper and an informal networking session for those who attend.
