Step into France this winter in Canberra, as the same French crew behind the Xmas in July Festival and The Raclette Igloo is back with a new foodie adventure: "La Creperie." Following the success of the Raclette Igloo, where over 20,000 Canberrans indulged in Raclette from the Alps, it's time to head to the breezy coasts of Brittany for a Crepe Party like never before in Australia – French waiter only, Authentic savoury crepes made with Sarasin (Buckwheat flour), live music and fun atmosphere. More than just a restaurant, this pop-up is an experience bringing the irresistible flavours of Brittany to Canberra from June 21 to June 30, 2024.

La Creperie will open its first pop-up restaurant in Parkes Place Lawns in the middle of the National Triangle in Canberra from 20th to 30th June 2024, a week prior Xmas in July festival.

ALL-YOU-CAN EAT CREPE PARTY OR CHEF’S CREATION?

Calling all crepe lovers! Ever heard of a Crepe Party? This unique way to experience crepes is all about sharing and cooking at the table with your Friends and Family and to mirror the generosity of the Bretons (Brittany people) we make it all-you-can eat!

Now, picture this: each person gets their own mini “Billig” crepe maker to create little culinary masterpiece. Your waiter will bring you two crepe bases, one savoury and one sweet and an array of savoury and sweet ingredients such as Gruyere, goat cheese, honey, nuts, smoked ham, chocolate, fruits and a list of authentic recipes to try. Let your imagination run wild, and pile your plate high! To complement your food, a bottle of authentic cider from Brittany Brut (dry) or Doux (sweet) is included in the dinner experience.

If you'd rather leave the flipping to us, "La Creperie" also offers a restaurant-style seating with an “A la carte” menu packed full of traditional french favourites.Get your crepe made traditionally by our “Crepier” and enjoy "La Complète", the most traditional savoury crepe, features ham, French Emmental cheese, mushrooms, and a perfectly cracked egg on top or “La Bergère”, a delicious cheesy recipe, features French Goat cheese, walnuts, honey and smoked ham. Of course, to finish on a sweet note, the delicious sweet crepes featuring melted chocolate, fresh fruits, dripping caramel and Chantilly (whipped cream).

Vincent Hernandez, event director says, I spent all my summers as a kid in a little town on the coast of Britany. My Grandmother would take us every Wednesday for lunch to the village Creperie and I can’t wait to share this cultural experience with people in Canberra. We spent hours with the team working on bringing not only authentic recipes but re-creating the unique atmosphere of an authentic creperie. The Crepe Party is something we do at home with friends & Family and it’s going to be fun to see people experiencing it in this unique setting we are creating."

Sourced from the orchards of Brittany, our crisp, apple-infused cider perfectly complements our rich, buttery crepes. The plus: degust cider the traditional way in little bowls just like in Brittany.

La Crêperie has been imagined as a theatrical dining experience with a lively atmosphere that captures the spirit of Brittany. From the staff uniform, to the live entertainment you will create memories and have a good time with your loved ones. The show is on the table and in front of you as the Kitchen is open so you can Watch our talented Crepier whip up delicious crêpes.

**This experience also suits our Gluten Free & Vegan friends as the “Buckwheat” crepe base is vegan and gluten free. For once, your group of friend / family can share the same experience!

La Crêperie brings the warmth and flavour of Brittany to Canberra by offering an all-you-can-eat crêpe party, authentic crêpe recipes, and traditional cider in a vibrant atmosphere, accommodating up to 60 tables at a time. The pop-up restaurant will be located in the National Triangle - Parks Place Lawns from June 21 to June 30, 2024.
