Native Vegetation Property Planning - Online - 1 May

This online session is an opportunity to learn how to develop a property plan for your Heritage Agreement.

As an existing or aspiring Heritage Agreement owner, the Native Vegetation Heritage Agreement (NVHA) Grants Program is excited to be offering a training program to landowners in the Murraylands and Riverland region with the opportunity to learn about conserving natural vegetation on your property.

Trees for Life will deliver the training sessions in partnership with the Landscape Boards (SA) and the Native Vegetation Branch.

This workshop will enable you to;

• Identify and care for natural assets

• Learn about impacts from threats and strategies for management

• Create a property plan to guide activities

• Meet other HA owners and conservation management staff

This training is building on the Native Vegetation Heritage Agreement Grants Program, which has provided on-site support to 200+ landowners, awarded 100+ grants sharing in over $2 million of grant funding to Heritage Agreement landowners across South Australia.

Murraylands and Riverland and Kangaroo Island will be the first regions to experience onsite training and networking sessions, which are planned for April 2024. Sessions are also planned in the Northern and Yorke, Limestone Coast and Eyre Peninsula regions in late 2024 and 2025.

Online workshops will start in May and provide detailed information on specific land management topics: weed control, pest animal management, plant identification, bird identification, fire management and property planning.

The Native Vegetation Heritage Agreement Grants Program is a State Government election commitment and will run until June 2026.

The Heritage Agreement Grants Program is working in partnership with the Landscape Boards (SA) and Trees for Life to deliver parts the program e.g. on-site land management advice and training.
