Treat your mum, or the extraordinary mother figure in your life, to an exclusive High Tea within the most charming and chic room in Melbourne’s CBD, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall at State Library Victoria.
Sip on a complimentary glass of Mumm Brut champagne before enjoying delectable sweet and savoury treats served on a three-tier tower, while live classical music softly springs off the soaring columns of the impressive heritage space.
Nibble on gourmet savoury and sweet treats including mini croque monsieur, blackberry meringue tart, homemade lemonade scones, caramelised pineapple and lemon myrtle curd, strawberry gum jam, and vanilla cream.

Our Mother’s Day High Tea includes free-flowing teas and freshly brewed coffee, with sweet and savoury treats.

Time sessions: From 10am. Sessions are staggered every 30 minutes. Please note that your high tea sitting lasts for a duration of 2 hours.
PRICE:
Adults - $120 pp + BF
Teen (13 - 17 years) $99pp + BF
Child (2 - 12 years) - $35 pp + BF

Price includes a selection of sweet and savoury treats, one complimentary glass of Mumm Brut champagne per person and free-flowing tea and coffee.

We can cater to most dietary requirements if given advance notice. It is essential that you advise us at the time of booking if you or your guests have any special dietary requirements. We cannot guarantee that dietary requirements can be catered for if not notified 72 hours prior to dining.
Tickets to Mother's Day High Tea at State Library Victoria are non-refundable in the case of cancellation due to change of mind (including errors when making bookings online and changes in personal circumstances), reductions in the number of guests dining or in the event of a no-show.
Beverages will be available to purchase on the day. Please note cash is not accepted.
While we hope your mother or maternal figure would appreciate receiving flowers on Mother's Day, please be aware that external floral bouquets are not allowed on the library premises. We kindly ask you to leave such gifts at home.
There is no parking on site. The nearest paid street parking is on La Trobe Street and several pay car parks located at Melbourne Central and QV. There are three parking spaces for people with a disability permit in La Trobe Street.
If travelling by train, Melbourne Central station is directly opposite the Library's Swanston Street entrance. Country travellers can transfer to metropolitan trains at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations. Ten tram routes take you directly to the entrance on Swanston Street.
At the time of check out you can indicate if you are joining another booking or group of people. Please list the other parties full name and we will facilitate. Please note you must have the same time slot.
