About this event

Are you keen to learn more about our rich history? The Peninsula Heritage Bus Tours will take you on a fun, sightseeing trip through time. Visit important local landmarks, browse the collections at local history museums, and learn more about the Peninsula's First Nations heritage.

Bus departs from Mornington Library, Vancouver Street, Mornington at 9:15 every Monday from 20th May - 24th June. Tickets are $10 per person, per tour, and includes all museum entry fees and a light lunch.

There are three tours available.

Route 1 (20th May & 10th June) :

Mornington Historical Museum and Old Post Office Building

Somerville Machinery Museum

Hastings Western Port Historical Museum and heritage precinct

Route 2 (27th May & 24th June):

Dromana Historical Museum and Old Shire Office

McCrae Lighthouse

Collins Settlement

Sorrento Museum

Route 3 (3rd & 17th June):

Flinders Pier historic precinct

Flinders township

Frequently asked questions

Is this event wheelchair friendly?

While access to most sites are wheelchair friendly, the bus does have a small step up into it. If you would like to attend the tour sites in your own vehicle, please contact us at artsandculture@mornpen.vic.gov.au

Is the lunch provided allergy friendly?

A light lunch and hot drink will be provided by a local cafe at the end of the tour. Dietary restrictions may be catered for in advance, please contact us before booking your ticket at artsandculture@mornpen.vic.gov.au

Can I book for more than one tour?

Certainly! Each tour route will be run twice across the 6 week event. Feel free to book and come along as many times as you like

I can't make the tour I booked/I booked the wrong date. Can I switch tours?

Please contact us at artsandculture@mornpen.vic.gov.au and we will do our best to accommodate you. Tickets are very limited so we cannot guarantee availability on other dates.
